I was right about something

Remember way back at the beginning of November? I said this:

November is not a good month for me to plan anything requiring daily commitment.

At least I was right about something! Total crash and burn for November NaBloPoMo, followed by a long absence from the blog extending through most of December. I’m trying to get back on track and I’m finding it a little difficult since I’m not doing any classes with the Rottweilers, nor do we have any shows or trials planned for the near future. So I feel like I don’t have anything interesting and topical to write about. Plus I’m not working on any geektastic projects, and haven’t gotten any cool tech gadgets lately, so nothing exciting to report on the computer and technology front either.

My phone is eligible for an upgrade. Nothing is wrong with it, and I really don’t need to upgrade. But I might have to, just so I have something to write about!

Fall back

I grew up in one of the few places in the United States that does not observe Daylight Saving Time. So until I was 18, I never had to do the “spring forward, fall back” thing. After way more than 18 years of living with the time change, I suppose I have no excuse for not taking it in stride.

But as usual, I feel somewhat disoriented with a body clock that didn’t reset automatically like the computerized clocks. Fortunately, the dogs did sort of reset. They must have been tired, because they slept in for almost the entire “extra” hour. At least that was helpful.

I understand the origins of Daylight Savings Time, and the supposed reasons for its extension a few years ago. I still question why we are still observing it, especially since there seems to be no hard evidence of any energy savings.

If I had my act together, I would have taken this photograph from the same vantage point with the same camera at the same time of day as the photo I took last week. Sorry, just not that organized!

To make up for my lack of organization, here is a closer view. So many more chrysanthemum flowers this week!
